Landscaping in Buxted. Drainage, gate piers and porch

A large project on a sloping site.
The old gate piers were demolished, renewed with brick housing steel posts to hang the automated gates on.
Drive edgings and brick retaining walls with drainage.
Excavated circular patio area with widening steps, the walls were built to engineers’ details, reinforced from footings upwards with drainage behind.
Segmented flower beds and seating area.
Dry garden, this had to be dug out to accommodate drainage to ensure the area was dry, retaining walls again to engineers’ details.
A large soakaway was built at bottom of the hill to accommodate all the new drainage output.
Drive was done by others; this was dug out and porous tarmac laid then resin coat to the levels of our edging bricks.

Jamie and Gary are rare professionals. They have stepped in at short notice to help us with emergency repairs, for example leaking roof and fallen tiles and also for longer term projects fascia and sofits, fencing, tiling, pointing, painting as well as all manner of ad hoc work that they can undertake. They are highly professional, polite, reliable and responsible and I highly recommend them and their work. Quotes are very accurate and very fair value and they will do their best to accommodate changes to scope as schedules allow. Jamie and Garry built a top-spec workshop for me, closely following the architectural planning-approved drawings, which required a great deal of unexpected remedial and improvisational ingenuity. They did a thoroughly first-class job on every aspect of the build, from initial groundwork of excavation and levelling, to wall, floor and roof construction, Velux installation, internal and over-slab insulation and full plastering ready for first-fix power supply. I was amazed at their professionalism, range of skills and expertise, as well as their no-problem attitude when rectifying my many DIY botches. They were also very patient in explaining what they were doing and why, which was very much appreciated (even though very humbling!). I would heartily recommend them to anyone needing any top-quality building work.

Jamie Smith, Gary and the rest of his team are top notch. We couldn't have asked for a better builder. Initially, Jamie built a large two storey extension for us, and undertook a large number of internal alterations to the original house, practically altering every room. We were so impressed with his approach we had him back to do our large raised patio built on a block and beam base, with flags, steps and an oak pergola and then the brickwork for our driveway. The end result is always top notch. He is reliable, honest and we enjoyed having all of them around the house throughout the build - so much so that Jemma and I both missed Jamie and his crew when all the work was done!
